Hiya. I'm Michelle Horton, a 28-year-old mother, wife, and story sharer.
In a former life, I was a college-grad magazine intern with a solid 10-year plan until a (SURPRISE!) pregnancy shook up my life like a giant Etch-A-Sketch.
I was 21 years old. I had just graduated college (like, a minute ago), and was job hunting in the highly competitive magazine publishing scene in NYC. I had no money, no health insurance, and absolutely no idea what my life was about to look like.
Ultimately — through twists and risks — I ended up a successful stay-at-home freelance writer by 24 years old, raising my son and growing this community.
I'm a writer.
I'm a regular contributor to Babble.com, mom.me, and YourTango.com, and I've also blogged for Parenting.com, Disney Baby, and SELF.com. My work has been featured in The Huffington Post, CNN.com, and Yahoo! Shine.
Oh! And I was on the radio! Listen to me on CBC's Day 6 (which also played on NPR) sticking up for the young mamas.
